Back-to-Back Spin Up

Attribution: This game is based on a BJJ Globetrotters Camp with coach Rob Cole.

Top Player:

  • Position: Start seated, back-to-back with opponent
  • Objective: Control opponent’s knee or ankle and come up into top position
  • Constraints: Must maintain contact and only come up if opponent’s ankle or knee is off mat
  • Win Condition: Come up into top position with control of at least one ankle/knee for 2 seconds

Bottom Player:

  • Position: Same start, seated back-to-back
  • Objective: Same—scramble to top with ankle/knee control
  • Constraints: Must maintain contact until transition
  • Win Condition: Come up with ankle/knee control and disconnect from opponent for 2 seconds
