Single Leg and Supine Guard

Each game consists of a three minute round, a one minute break, and then another three minute round with the position of the players switched.

Attacking Player:

  • Position: One of your partner's legs is held immobilized between your legs using your hands and arms.
  • Objective: Stay connected to the single leg and single leg situation. Move your partner around. Move the single leg to different parts of your body.
  • Constraints: No takedowns.
  • Win Condition: None

Defending Player:

  • Position: Your partner has a single leg grip, and you are balanced on one foot.
  • Objective: Stay balanced and remove your leg from the situation by any means.
  • Constraints: None
  • Win Condition: Leg is removed from the single leg situation.

  • Objective: Stay connected to the single leg and single leg situation. Move your partner around. Move the single leg to different parts of your body, and attempt to take your partner down to their hips or hands.
  • Constraints: N/A
  • Win Condition: Taking partner down to their hips or hands.

Defending Player:

  • Position: Your partner has a single leg grip, and you are balanced on one foot.
  • Objective: Stay balanced and remove your leg from the situation by any means.
  • Constraints: None
  • Win Condition: Leg is removed from the single leg situation.

  • Win Condition: Leg is removed from the single leg situation.

Top Player:

  • Position: Top of half guard with one underhook and chest to chest contact on your partner.
  • Objective: Hold bottom player down chest to chest with contact. Search for double underhooks.
  • Constraints: None
  • Win Condition: Double underhooks established.

Bottom Player:

  • Position: Bottom of half guard with your opponent having one underhook and chest to chest contact. You have a frame on the head arm.
  • Objective: Use movement to create space and improve your position.
  • Constraints: None
  • Win Condition: Achieve knee shield or inside hook.

Reset if either player wins.

Top Player:

  • Position: Top of your partner who is on their side. You have access to their hips.
  • Objective: Flatten your opponent to their back, create chest to chest contact, and establish underhooks
  • Constraints: None
  • Win Condition: Free your trapped leg.

Bottom Player:

  • Position: On your side with your partner having access to your hips.
  • Objective: Use movement to create space and improve your position.
  • Constraints: None
  • Win Condition: Establish the knee shield or inside hook.

6 Minute Round

Live round with a partner. Start standing if you are able to do so safely. Otherwise pick the starting position from one of the previous games and start there. Roll to submission, reset, and continue. Repeat as many times as possible before the round ends.
